Rather than relying solely on conversation, I engage children through approaches using creative methods. These methods provide children with natural and accessible ways to express feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. By nurturing children's developmental needs, these approaches help them express their concerns and work through challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
With adolescents, spoken language and open discussion of emotions tend to become more prominent; for example, many individuals in this age group find it helpful to talk through their experiences and feelings; favouring conversation over other forms of communication such as art or play. This shift often reflects their growing ability to articulate complex thoughts and emotions, as well as a desire for understanding and connection through dialogue.
In an adult session, I will provide the space where you will have the opportunity to explore issues or concerns which are prominent in your life. Together, we can explore and navigate the challenges which may be getting in the way of you gaining understanding and self-awareness. This can help you gain personal fulfilment in your experience of life.

Psychotherapy with children includes meetings with the parents. Further meetings are with the child alone, whilst the parents wait on site or nearby.
Psychotherapy with adolescents usually happens with more separation from the parents, as adolescence is a time of transition into adulthood and independence. Initial meetings are often with the young person and parents, or without the parents at all.
If you are an adult looking for a therapeutic space, and what you have read so far meets your needs, contact me for an initial appointment.
-
Once you have contacted me via phone or email, we will have a no cost 20-minute phone discussion.
If your child is aged 5-18, I will arrange an initial assessment session if appropriate, which will be for you as parent(s) only. This appointment gives you the opportunity to tell me more about your concerns. We can discuss whether your child or teenager might benefit from psychotherapy sessions.
If your young person is aged 18-25, if appropriate, an appointment will be made for the young person only.
For adults, once you have made contact with me, I will use your chosen method of communication to arrange an initial appointment.’
